Production Process of SSAW Steel Pipe Production and its 3PE Anti-corrosion

SSAW steel pipe is a spiral seam steel pipe made of steel strip (hot-rolled coil), extruded and formed by automatic double-wire double-sided submerged arc welding.

SSAW steel pipe production process: put the strip steel into the welded pipe unit, and the strip steel is gradually rolled up after being squeezed by multiple rollers to form a round tube blank with an open gap. The extrusion amount of the rollers is adjusted to control the weld gap at 1 ~3mm, and make both ends of the welding joint flush. Double-sided submerged arc welding is performed on the weld. SSAW steel pipes will do lots tests before they leave the factory to test the mechanical properties, mechanical properties, yield strength, withstand pressure and tensile strength etc. of the steel pipe

Three-layer polyethylene (3PE) is a high-performance anti-corrosion coating, which is the outer wall of steel pipes. It has excellent anti-corrosion, insulation, smooth, dense, hard coating, strong adhesion, salt and alkali resistance, seawater resistance, and soil resistance. Microbial corrosion and resistance to plant rhizome penetration are good. The 3PE anti-corrosion steel pipe project can be buried in the ground for 50 years. Has been widely used in various large-scale pipeline engineering anti-corrosion

3PE anticorrosive structure: one layer of epoxy powder (FBE>100um), the second layer of adhesive (AD) 170~250um, the third layer of polyethylene (PE) 2.5 mm ~ 3.7mm. The three materials are integrated and firmly combined with the steel pipe to form an excellent anti-corrosion layer.

3PE anti-corrosion is divided into normal grade and reinforced grade. The thickness of normal grade is 2.5mm, the thickness of reinforced grade is 3.2mm (caliber ≤820), and the thickness of reinforced grade is 3.7mm (caliber ≥820).
