Hot dip galvanized steel pipe is also known as galvanized steel pipe. The name implies that it should be gone through special treatment, such as galvanized process. The meaning of galvanizing is to galvanize the outer surface or inner wall of the steel pipe in order to achieve the anti-corruption effect and improve its service life. 

At present, most of the cold galvanized steel pipes are used in industry, and only the hot dip galvanized steel pipes are still used in cities. So the service life of galvanized steel pipe is what we are most concerned about. The following is to introduce how long the steel pipe can be used after the galvanized process. Galvanized process can increase the corrosion resistance and prolong the service life of the steel pipe. In urban areas, the service life of galvanized steel pipes can reach 30 years, and in other corrosion-prone areas,  the life is even longer. How long they can be used mainly depends on the  thickness of galvanized steel pipe layer.

Galvanized steel pipe has essentially played the role of rust prevention, and there is no need to do other rust prevention treatment. To further improve the antirust effect, you can use a physical method----to brush or spray the surface with a layer of antirust paint.

The application of galvanized pipe is very wide. In addition to water, gas, oil and other general low pressure fluid line pipe, it also can be used in oil industry, especially the ocean oil well pipe, oil pipe, oil heater, the condensing cooler of chemical coking equipment, and the supporting frame tubes of trestle pile, mining tunnel, etc.

The anti-corrosion age of galvanized is long, but the anti-corrosion age is not the same in different environments: 13 years in heavy industrial areas, 50 years in the ocean, 104 years in the suburbs, and 30 years in the city. 

The service life of cold galvanized steel pipe is relatively lower than that of hot galvanized steel pipe. In the process of purchasing galvanized steel pipe, we must know whether we need hot galvanized steel pipe or cold galvanized steel pipe.
